Making South Yorkshire Safer

A6315 Chapeltown Road / Ecclesfield Road

Information about the change of speed limit.

On the 5th September, Sheffield City Council implemented a change of speed limit on the A6315 Chapeltown Road / Ecclesfield Road.

The existing 30mph speed limit has been extended to a point near Crakehall Road.

This means that the existing fixed speed cameras which were within the 40mph speed limit, are now within the new 30mph speed limit.

South Yorkshire Safety Cameras, being aware of this change, took the decision to stop using the fixed cameras before the new speed limit was introduced.

They have also agreed with Sheffield City Council that the cameras will not be used for a period of time, to allow drivers to adjust to the new speed limit.
